Doi Suthep Temple is a very sacred temple for Thai People, just 15 Km from Chiang Mai City, You can have great views of Chiang Mai from the site of temple.  It was built in 14th Century (in 1383), from the car park,  you can climb 300 steps . At the staircase entrance, you can see the mythical Naga Serpen, which taking the form of a very great snake, specifically the king cobra, found in Indian religions, mainly Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism. This is a very popular attraction for tourists who travel to Chiang Mai.

When you reach to the main temple, here you find a beautiful copy of the Emerald Buddha statue on display, The real Emerald Buddha statue is now in Bangkok.
